The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has announced the appointment of Fehad Al-Mufrag as the executive director of the national teams, in a move aimed at strengthening administrative and technical work within the national teams' development strategy. The appointment comes as part of the federation's plan to unify the administrative vision between the national team and the Olympic team, and to create more integration in preparation programs and development plans, in line with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's goals on both the continental and international levels. Al-Mufrag has a long administrative experience in the football field, having previously held the position of director of football at Al-Hilal for several seasons, and achieving many local and Asian achievements, before taking on administrative roles in the federation during the previous period. Al-Mufrag is expected to begin his new role in the coming days, overseeing all organizational and administrative aspects of the national teams, and coordinating with technical devices to set up preparation programs for upcoming events, including the 2026 World Cup and the 23 Under Asian Cup. The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has confirmed that this step comes within the framework of the institutional development path and the improvement of the efficiency of work in the national teams
