The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) announced a change in the referee kits for the Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay match in the FIFA World Cup 2026, in honor of the city of Miami. The referees will wear pink uniforms in the match scheduled to take place on Tuesday morning.

The match will be held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, as part of Group 8. FIFA stated in its statement that "the referees will honor their host city by wearing pink shirts with a picture of flamingos in the Uruguay vs Saudi Arabia match on Monday, June 15, in reference to the flamingos, art deco architecture, and the famous sunset in Miami that made this color a distinctive symbol here".
Referees in FIFA World Cup 2026
The referees' camp during the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be held in Miami, America, which was chosen to be the main headquarters of the referees in the tournament. The Italian referee Maurizio Mariani will direct the match, assisted by Daniele Bindoni and Alberto Tegoni.
